Clinical trial center Acurian is currently seeking persons whose medication is causing constipation. The purpose of this research study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of an investigational drug compared to placebo (an inactive look-alike pill) for the treatment of constipation due to opiate use. Medications containing opiates dull the function of patients' central nervous systems, often resulting in a lazy colon. Constipation can be uncomfortable, socially embarrassing, and can negatively affect the colon in the long term. This new drug is designed to resume normal colon function in a way that's safe and healthy. If you pass their initial screener, and wish to participate, your information will be shared with a research site of your choosing for further evaluation. There is no cost for participating in the study. All examinations, tests and investigational medication are at no cost to you. If you qualify, you may be eligible for compensation for your time and travel. You are under no obligation to participate by filling out the form. Help further studies to reduce unwelcome medication side effects by participating in a clinical trial with Acurian; you'll likely be compensated for your time, and will be compensated for any travel required.
