Bell Fibe 25 High-Speed Internet: 25 Mbps Down, 7 Mbps Up $57.95/mth + $6.95 Modem Rental
Bell’s new Fibe 25 (available in select areas) high-speed Internet service offers much faster uploads and downloads with 25 Mbps download and 7 Mbps upload speeds compared to 6 Mbps download and 1 Mbps upload of your standard DSL service. It’s currently $57.95 per month for the first 12 months by itself. If it’s bundled with Bell TV service it drops down to $52.95 per month for the first 12 months. A modem rental charge of $6.95 per month is mandatory on top as well as a one-time $29.95 activation fee.
You get 75GB of bandwidth with the base package plus you can purchase blocks of additional usage at a rate of $5 for 40GB. It comes with wireless N home networking attached to the modem and you get free Wi-Fi at all Starbucks locations. You can definitely get high speed access for less, but for users that demand speed, this looks like the best deal going.

If you’re a Metallica fan you’ll want to check out this collection of Free Complete Metallica Shows available for download in MP3. Click the Free Downloads (1982-2003) tab to see what shows are available.
Individual shows range from about an hour to around two hours in length and contain a nice range of songs from the Metallica discography. Keep in mind that there are a bunch of other shows available for download, but at a price (usually 99¢ a song) so stick to the Free Download section if you’re not looking to spend any money.

Steam: Free Games for NVIDIA and ATi users (Portal, Half-Life 2: Death Match, Peggle)
Steam is offering free games to PC users with NVIDIA or ATi graphics cards. This should include most people with add-in graphic cards and those using PCs designed for games in general. NVIDIA users get Portal: First Slice (the first 11 levels of the game), Half-Life 2: Death Match, Half-Life 2: Lost Coast, and Peggle Extreme while ATi users get Half-Life 2: Death Match and Half-Life 2: Lost Coast.
It is actually quite simple to act on this offer: First, go to your Control Panel and see if you have NVIDIA or ATi hardware on your computer. There should be a control panel for one of them if you have it.
Depending on which graphics card you have, visit Steam’s NVIDIA promotion page or Steam’s ATi promotion page and click on the “Get it Now” button.
If you are already a Steam user and have it installed, you can just click the button that says so and run the program it downloads with Steam. It will automatically detect your graphics card and the promotional games install window should pop up. If you do not have Steam, click the button to install Steam and create a free account. After that, it should automatically detect your card and an installation prompt will pop up. If this does not happen, just visit the page again and click the other button.
This is a limited time offer with no noted end date, so plan to act sooner than later.

LiveCity Yaletown & LiveCity Downtown – Free Concerts and More Feb 13-27 (VAN)
What will your favourite 2010 Winter Olympic event be? Snowboarding, hockey…or maybe Blue Rodeo? If you’re lucky enough to be in Vancouver from February 13-27, and willing to brave the crowds, you can take in a number of free concerts and events at both the LiveCity Yaletown and LiveCity Downtown venues.
In addition to the interactive light shows, short-film screenings, and giant screens showing Olympic sporting highlights, you can attend nightly free concerts by such headlining bands as Wilco, Buck65, Alexisonfire, and Blue Rodeo! To download a complete list of performers for both venues go here.
The first major free event will be the Califone! and Wilco concerts on February 13 at LiveCity Yaletown, located in David Lam Park. Califone! takes the stage at 7:30PM, but you’ll want to arrive much earlier than that if you want to be any where near the action. Both venues are alcohol-free sites, so the whole family is welcome to attend. Large objects such as chairs or coolers will not be permitted to either venue.
